About Cahoots Theatre Company

Cahoots Theatre Company (formerly Cahoots Theatre Projects) was founded and incorporated provincially as a non-profit organization in 1986 and in the following year, the company was registered as a charitable organization.

For more than 20 years, Cahoots has been one of Canada’s flagship theatre companies for diversity and inclusivity. The company has been committed to the creation, development and production of new works that investigate the complexities of Canada’s cultural diversity, and examine the intersections of these cultures. Diversity is more than race, nation of origin and ethnicity. It also encompasses gender, sexuality, ability, language and class.

Our work questions, challenges and transforms our notions of contemporary Canadian life, and explores our evolving connection to the world around us. It encourages us to consider and honour our history, while stepping boldly into the future. We believe in artistic creation of the highest calibre, with a theatrical vision that is powerful, innovative and globally relevant.
We produce theatre that matters... and we do it in full colour.
